What you'll be doing
BT’s foundation is built on brilliant software, and as an apprentice you’ll gain hands-on experience of the full IT life-cycle of design, develop, implement, test and support.
You’ll learn how to deliver the very best software products, helping teams provide an effortless experience for our customers and staff wherever they are in the world, using whatever device and technology they choose.
Because we believe in placing the customer at the heart of everything we do, the role also includes a strong focus on human-centered design.
Training & Support
Throughout the course of your apprenticeship you’ll gain a wealth of invaluable experience. You’ll also be job specific skills such as how to create secure software solutions using software development languages, development methodologies, how to undertake analysis and design to create artefacts and how to produce high-quality code with sound syntax in at least one language.
You’ll also be taught how to perform code reviews, debugging and refactoring, code testing, how to deliver software solutions using industry standard build processes, version control, software build, and how to release and deploy code into enterprise environments.
To join our Apprentice Software Developer Level 4 programme you’ll need to achieve (or be on course to achieve) two A-Levels with a minimum of CC grades. You’ll also need a minimum of five GCSEs at grades 4-9 (C or above) including English and Maths.
