We are a busy and caring team supporting several men and a lady in our two homes in Thetford for people with learning disabilities.
The people we support are a great group of wonderful, enthusiastic, and fun-loving individuals
The Volunteer Role
Mencap are looking for a group of Volunteer co-ordinators who can work with our support teams to organise activities, co-ordinate appointments and be the heart of working in our team to enhance person centred support.
In Thetford, we support 8 people with a learning disability in our residential services. They have busy and active lives and would like to take part in activities such as swimming, horse riding, going to car shows, healthy lifestyle activities, visiting family and much more but they also need support to attend health related appointments
As a volunteer, you would not need to be an expert in the people we support’s key interests, but if you are organised and can help to coordinate their interest you can make a difference.
When do I need to be available?
We are looking for a consistent team and would primarily like you to have weekly availability. This could be one day a week.
Our services run 24/7 7 days a week. We are looking for people who would like to volunteer between the hours of 8am-9pm
