Volunteer Youth Group Helper

Do you enjoy working with children or young people?

Are you passionate about big ideas like equality, the environment and co-operation?

Woodcraft Folk is an educational movement for children and young people, designed to develop self-confidence and activity in society, with the aim of building a better, fairer world.

We are looking for new volunteers to work with our new Pioneer groups in Bury St Edmunds, Lowestoft and Ipswich. Pioneer groups cater for young people from 9 to 12 years old, and meet weekly during school term times. At Pioneers, our young members develop new skills and learn about the social and natural world around them through games, crafts, debates, drama and outdoor activities.

Woodcraft Folk thrives on the talents, commitment and enthusiasm of volunteers from many different backgrounds. We are looking for people who can work co-operatively as part of a small team of volunteers to deliver fun and creative activities inspired by Woodcraft Folk's aims and principles.

You will need to be able to communicate effectively with other volunteers and with young people, and to keep our groups a safe and supportive environment for our young members.

You will need to be available to help with group activities that take place on a weekday evening, whether you can volunteer every week or only a few times a term.

Potential volunteers must be able to follow Woodcraft Folk's Aims and Principles and our Safeguarding Policy.

Volunteers will be required to become full members of Woodcraft Folk.
