Greens Removals & Storage Ltd are an international Domestic and European Removals. We have a division focused on the importation of household goods from International destinations. These shipments have to be catalogued and managed. As a customs bonded warehouse we have many legal duties that must be adhered to in processing these shipments.

Greens Removals & Storage Ltd are an international Domestic and European Removals. We have a division focused on the importation of household goods from International destinations. We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Administrator to join the team.

As a warehouse administrator you will learn and perform all activities associated with the warehouse operation whilst focusing on the administrative and record keeping. As a Customs bonded warehouse record keeping is paramount, additional storage and logistics requirements require problem solving skills. You will work with the Warehouse manager and warehouse team both physically and administratively.

Day to Day Duties:

  • Work under the direction of the warehouse manager
  • Works as part of an unloading team on import shipping containers
  • Physically assist in the unloading and stacking and stowing of items
  • Administrate the items coming in
  • Record the arrivals and any items despatched
  • Work with the import Manager
  • Learn the Customs process to import consignments
  • Log import entries
  • Process Customs clearances

The role is working across the international import process learning from the warehouse manager and the Imports Manager.

Entry requirements
GCSE Grade 4 or above in maths and English, or equivalent.

Skills required
You will be working as part of a team so good communication is essential
Written records. Making hand written notes and writing on white boards. This is essential. There is not a lot of writing but it is a requirement as items located in the store will have to be recorded and the system is manual records so others need to be able to read your writing.
An adequate ability to spell is desirable.
You will be continually helping to offload furniture from containers so a general level of fitness is required. You will build stamina in the role over time.

Things to consider
You will be continually working in a warehouse environment. Workwear will be provided. Not only will you be working in an administrative role but also in a physical role. As key as general fitness to the role, the ability to use a computer and legibly write records is important. You will be learning and participating in importing a shipment from overseas and administratively customs clearing the shipment, physically unloading it into bonded storage, then loading it for delivery and accurately administrating the exit form the customs bond. The skill set learnt will provide experience qualifications in the logistics industry.
