Community Benefit / Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator 

This work experience opportunity will work closely with the Community Benefit Coordinator and Community Business Partner, operating within the site office environment. Community Benefit Coordinators are involved in the process of delivering project specific communication strategies regarding the construction of the bridge. This involves coordinating the Employment and Skills plan, Community Engagement plan and acting as the main point of contact between the project team and the public.

A work experience placement can expect to assist in coordinating a programme of various community engagement initiatives with local employment partners and businesses. They will have responsibility in keeping the site team informed of upcoming events and ensure these are supported. The placement may also include dealing with and resolving any comments, queries, or feedback from members of the public, both verbal and in writing.

The individual will often liaise with the site team to contribute to project newsletters and other written materials.

The ideal candidate will have / will be able to:

- experience in using spreadsheets and word processing programmes to create reports and communications documents,
- use electronic document management systems (Particularly PowerPoint and Teams),
- maintain a good standard of written communication and attention to detail,
- a creative mindset,
- confidence in their ability to communicate with both site staff and the public,
- good organisation,
- work in a team environment.
- enthusiasm to learn new experiences and be supportive of and part of a hard-working team.

About the Project

The Gull Wing is an iconic and important bridge for Lowestoft, being delivered by Suffolk County Council and built by Farrans Construction. Opening in 2023, the bridge will be a much-needed third crossing over the towns Lake Lothing. The Gull Wing will reduce traffic congestion in the town, regenerate the area and attract new investment for the local economy.

We can offer either 1 or 2 week placements over the entire length of the Project, with the possibility for other durations. We are happy to discuss placements in any department, either within Farrans or our Supply Chain working on the project.
