Weekly wage               £157.70
Working week                Monday - Friday with a Saturday on a rolling basis - Shifts to be confirmed between the hours of 8am and 6:30pm Monday - Friday.                                        On Saturdays 8:30am - 1:00pm.

Daily duties could include:

Preparing the clinic reception on a daily basis
Managing and dealing with appointment bookings in a professional and efficient manner using the in-practice database system
Receiving clients and their animals for appointments, being sensitive to their needs and promoting a professional image at all times
Maintaining product knowledge and being able to advise where necessary
Dealing with client enquiries via telephone and email
Supporting the Reception Manager with the dispensing and selling of items that may be available behind the counter
Complying with Health and Safety Regulations and local policy within the surgery
Working with the other members of the team to ensure that the reception and other areas of the practice are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and are presentable at all times
Communicating accurately and effectively with all the staff within the Practice
Supporting the Reception Manager with handling emergency cases appropriately by keeping clients and patients at ease before the arrival of the Vet
Operating the practice system producing reports as requested and organise mail shots and correspondence to send to clients
Supporting the Reception Manager with bereavement handling - offering physical and emotional assistance to clients in sensitive situations
Adhering to all Company and local policies and procedures

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills
First class organisational skills and the ability to perform assignments efficiently and respond to clients’ requests in a timely manner
Excellent phone etiquette
Computer literate
Be presentable, punctual and reliable
Being able to effectively handle several things at the same time without getting frustrated or letting that frustration impact on client care
Personal qualities
Be committed to providing a high standard of customer service
Good temperament and the ability to exercise patience with clients
Evidence of working within a team environment is desirable

Desired qualifications
GCSE Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent, in maths and English.
