An opportunity has arisen for an apprenticeship Gardener on a working farm estate in Suffolk.
The apprentice will be working under the head gardener and grounds man, in all aspects of estate management including work in the estate garden, main house and farm estate when required
Main description
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Duties will include:
- Lawn maintenance weed killing, mowing, and rough grass cutting
- Low level tree work hedge maintenance and border edging gravel drive terrace maintenance shrub maintenance roses pruning
- General maintenance in gardening herbaceous borders orchids rose collection flower arrangements on seasonal shoots and house arrangements
- Work with farm estate when required and house hold staff when required
Training to be provided
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Horticulture or landscape construction operative (level 2)

Skills required
- General Garden Maintenance
- NVQ L1 NVQ L2
- Hard working, keen eye for detail able to work within a team or on there own ability to work in all weather conditions.

Potential to become head gardener.

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
