Employer Description

Burnett Barker Solicitors has been providing practical legal advice to people and businesses for over 40 years. Our team is based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. This vacancy is for a Business Administration Apprentice Level 3. 

Main description

Key duties will include:

Accounts Support: assist the Accounts Manager with financial transactions and reporting, such as processing payments, producing reports, filing and other related tasks.
Make payments and/or process client data.
Administer billing, process invoices and purchase orders.
Manage change, business finances and project management.
Strongroom Support: responsible for the daily administration of our strongroom document store and accurate record keeping, adding and removing documents to/from store.
Adhere to regulations, including data protection, health & safety, compliance etc.
Explore solutionbased approaches to improve business processes and to help define procedures.
Administration Support: responsible for a range of business administration tasks for the Business Support Team as well as the wider business, such as reception cover, scanning, binding, scanning and post.
Manage resources e.g. equipment or facilities. Organise meetings, taking minutes and organising company events.

Entry requirements

Good standard of basic education to include; Maths and English at GCSE grade C or above.

Skills required

Able to use a range of software packages i.e. excel, word and outlook.
You must be able to take and follow instruction.
This is a fast-paced working environment and you will need to have clear and concise communication skills with peers, clients and suppliers.
Ability to engage and foster relationships with suppliers and partner organisations.

You must maintain the confidentiality of both our clients and our business.
As you will be working in a professional services environment you will need to behave appropriately.

Training to be Provided

Business Administration Apprentice Level 3 

Things to consider

The strongroom/admin element of the job will involve moving boxes and stationery distribution. You will be required to pass a DBS check (at our cost).
