Training & Apprenticeships in Construction Ltd (TrAC) is a DfE approved Flexi Job Apprenticeship Agency who will employ you for the duration of the apprenticeship and pay your salary. You should be aware that you will be placed with a host employer but you will not be employed by them. Your placement may change during the course of your apprenticeship but TrAC will employ you throughout, as well as continuing to support you into employment or further learning at the end of your apprenticeship.
Main description
Are you passionate about the outdoors and interested in developing hands-on skills in landscaping? A Chelmsford based business is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Landscaping Apprentices. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a trade while gaining practical experience in the construction industry.
What you'll do at work
- Dig the ground for planting
- Plant a range of shrubs, plants and flowers
- Plant trees
- Lay and treat turf
- Prepare the ground for laying paths and patios
- Use specialist tools and plant equipment
- Work on a variety of large construction schemes for our impressive client base, including national housebuilders and large main contractors
- Be part of a dynamic team, contributing to high-quality landscaping projects
Training to be provided
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Entry Requirements
Essential qualifications
GCSE in: English (grade 3) Maths (grade 3)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements
- Applicants must be physically fit and willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Applicants must hold a valid CSCS Card or be willing to undertake the necessary test immediately.
- Applicants must be able to reliably get to the yard in Chelmsford by 6:30am.
- Due to working hours, applicants under the age of 18 cannot be considered.
No prior experience is needed; we are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic and eagerness to develop new skills.
- A genuine interest in landscaping and construction.
- Willingness to learn and the ability to work well in a team.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Reliable. Whatever the weather we need someone who can get up early, be on time and give it their all.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Good organisation skills and process driven.
- You will need to be able to follow instructions consistently.
- Have a positive attitude towards Health & Safety.
