Main description
Amarinth, a world-leading, net-zero designer and manufacturer of low lifecycle cost centrifugal pumps and associated equipment, primarily for the offshore and onshore oil & gas industries; nuclear and renewable energy generation; defence; desalination; process and industrial markets. They are currently looking for an Engineering apprentice.
Main Duties:
The day to day contact within the organisation
How the role fits within the organisation, or the department
- To effectively develop the core skills to be able to create 3D CAD models using SolidWorks, to produce bespoke engineering solutions that are practical, viable and compliant with relevant industry standards and specifications.
- To produce accurate and relevant bills of material (BOM’s), drawings and associated technical documentation, in accordance with prescribed timescales
- Understanding customer’s requirements, participation in clarification meetings and reading project specifications.
- Produce bills of material, detailing components ensuring material/quality conform to the customer specification.
- Review sub-order component documentation for technical compliance.
- Produce 3D CAD modelling, manufacturing, assembly drawings and customer-related drawings and documents.
- Support the Contracts Department in resolving technical issues, via the production and justification of proposed solutions.
- Using Solid Works and the Company’s modular methodology to generate bespoke pump assemblies.
- Communicating effectively with both “customers” and suppliers, both verbally and in writing, and both internal and external, in order to obtain information to facilitate the design process
- To take responsibility for ensuring that all solutions follow good engineering practice, are fit-for-purpose and safe.
- Ensure all parts clearly define all material testing and certification requirements.
Entry requirements
Minimum 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English at minimum grade 5 - Essential.

Future Prospects
Also, it is the company’s intention to offer a full time, permanent position on successful completion of the apprenticeship, but this will be conditional upon both the apprentice’s performance during their apprenticeship and the needs of the business at that time.
