Lab-Med Ltd are a Medical Equipment Supplier & manufacture of the Opmaster range of medical devices. The range consists of main operating tables, Day surgery & specialised Ophthalmic operating trolleys. They have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Engineer to join the team.
Day to day assembly of our Opmaster products – operating tables, ophthalmic tables and equipment for the medical industry.
Maintaining hospital equipment throughout the UK, both planned preventative maintenance and breakdown to do functional tests, inspection and preventative maintenance to ensure all tables operate correctly and safely.
Some equipment will be repaired in our workshop from time to time and therefore the apprentice will be required to collect various operating tables/trolleys from hospitals in the UK
For all of the above, you will be under supervision and supported by the team.
GCSE Grade 4 or above in maths and English (or equivalent is essential.
It would be advantageous if the apprentice has acquired some engineering qualifications or background knowledge of general engineering including electro/hydraulic equipment.
Good grammar and impeccable customer service skills both telephone and face to face.
Confident driver with clean drivers licence. (Required for the job role)
Good English both clear speaking & writing skills.
Disciplined and organised.
Polite with positive/ respectful mentality.
Punctuality and at good time-keeping.
Good conversationist with willingness to have the patience to be able listen.

Things to consider
The benefits of the job will be that you manage yourself in relations with the customer and will be provided with transport for any service work. We are flexible with time, in some cases jobs will involve early morning starts and therefore we accommodate this by giving the apprentice time allowances, such as days in lieu; where considered due to hours of work. The role requires someone whom is able and competent to work on their own initiative without guidance, in terms of making relationships with the customer and providing a professional service. Non-smoker is essential, we work in a clinical environment which means we expect the apprentice to be clean, casual/smart attire i.e. trousers shoes (not supplied) and Lab-Med Ltd Shirt/polo shirt and coat which will be provided by us. Mobile phone and credit card will also be provided. -Required minimum age 21yrs old with driving license held for minimum of 3yrs. (Required for job role). -SSP as standard. -Hep B immunisation required by law (paid for by Lab-Med Ltd). -Some weekend work is required and therefore will be accommodated with days in lieu of this as opposed to additional pay.
Full time employment will be awarded on successful completion of Apprenticeship. Furthermore, the salary will also be evaluated and adjusted accordingly.
