What you'll be doing
The primary role of a Unified Communications Technician Level 3 is to establish and maintain communications systems using a range of remote and physical tools to install basic communication hardware and software. It’s very varied job that could require you to work alone or as part of a team, and could be office based, field-based, or at remote sites.
As an Apprentice you’ll learn how to carry out repairs of laptops, desktops and printers. This will include diagnosing faults, replacing parts, carrying out rebuilds and working with both internal and external customers. You’ll also be trained to install and replace routers and will be required to keep up to date with HP, Lenovo, Dell training accreditations.
Training & Support
Throughout the course of your apprenticeship you’ll gain a wealth of invaluable experience. You’ll also be taught job specific skills such as logical and creative thinking and problem solving. You’ll also learn how to maintain productive, professional and secure working environment.
You’ll need to be able to use own initiative and have a thorough and organised approach to work. You’ll have the flexibility and social skills needed to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people, and your written communication skills will also be good.
To join our Apprentice Unified Communications Technician Level 3 programme you’ll need to achieve five GCSEs at grades 4 – 9 (GCSE C or above) including English Language and Maths. You’ll also need a full driving licence with no more than six points.
