Elan Civil Engineering is a groundworks company with extensive civil engineering experience throughout East Anglia. Elan offers a full range of services spanning from new housing development schemes, infrastructure projects, utilities and commercial requirements. We offer full service solutions, fulfilling all aspects from start to finish of a project; from initial design concepts, through sourcing and supplying materials, complete installation and after-care services.
Main description
Elan Civil Engineering is a groundworks company with extensive civil engineering experience throughout East Anglia. As a groundworker apprentice you will be working under the direct supervision of an experienced supervisor. The role is varied depending on the site and requirements.
The duties include but are not limited to:
Construction of foundations, roads and footpaths
Installation of drainage and service ducts
Laying kerbs, edgings and construction of car parks
Excavation works General labouring
Adhering to all Health & safety policies and legislation with Elan and the site
Entry requirements
Maths and English Level 1 - Essential
GCSE/Level 2 Maths and English - Desirable.

Training to be Provided
The learner will be studying the Groundworker Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
Day relaese to West Suffolk College.
Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.
Things to consider
Working as a Groundworker means that you will be working outside in all seasons. It is a physically demanding job. You must be willing to take instruction and to follow rules from site and your own safety. You would be expected to be able to get yourself to and from both work and college.
Future Prospects
After completion of the Apprentice Groundworker Level 2 course you will be employed full time as a fully qualified Groundworker. They are many opportunities within the company to keep progressing within the company, including and not limited to Plant Operator, Supervisor or Site Manager. Elan are keen to encourage upskilling of our staff and actively encourage it.
