Main description
Acutech Precision Engineering offers decades of experience in the precision engineering sector, providing customers with quality components they can rely on for a variety of industries. The team are looking to recruit for an Apprentice Mechanical Engineer.
Main roles and Responsibilities:
- Preparing, setting up, operating and adjusting machinery.
- Applying risk assessment and hazard processes.
- Monitoring, obtaining and checking stock and supplies, and completing stock returns.
- Reading, recording and interpreting information.
- Applying scientific, engineering and mathematical principles.
- Planning and organising workload and resources.
- Following and applying inspection and quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Selecting processes, tools and devices, and measuring/ checking components for their condition and suitability.
- Applying machining operations and techniques to produce complex components with features.
- Finding faults and rectifying them.
- Maintaining the work area and following safety procedures.
- Applying principles throughout work and approaches.
Entry requirements
Essential:
GCSE or Equivalent in Maths and English Grades 4-9.

Training to be provided
The learner will be studying the Machining Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
Day release to West Suffolk College
Things to consider
We are situated in Attleborough just off the A11 near the Breckland Lodge Hotel. Attleborough has a train station and regular buses. Own transport would be preferred, but not necessary if you live in the town.
Future prospects
A position may be available for the right candidate following successful completion of the apprenticeship. The business is looking for somebody who wants to develop and gain a position following their apprenticeship.
