The Apex is the leading events venue in Bury St Edmunds staging conferences, exhibitions, dinners, parties and weddings.
The Apex is an award-winning music, entertainment, community and business venue in the heart of Bury St Edmunds. The Athenaeum is an impressive Georgian gem on Angel Hill is without doubt one of the most unique and atmospheric venues in Bury St Edmunds and a grand backdrop for weddings, private parties, conferences, corporate events and TV and film locations.
We’re Seasoned – an amazingly dynamic team of highly motivated, bright, talented people whose sole focus is on creating extraordinary smile-inducing food and drink experiences. We are café, hospitality, event management, and fine dining experts providing the freshest, seasonal, sustainable, ethical, and local ingredients.
Main description
Holiday: 28 days pro rata including bank holidays per annum
Hours: The hours are predominantly 9am - 5pm, Occasional weekends and flexi for functions/events
Days: Flexible working days that suit you, so please let us know what days you are looking for during the application/interview process.
The role –
You will be working at the Apex and Athenaeum (both venues are a short walk).
Front of House:
Service of plated food and serving of drinks.
Clearing tables.
Following instructions, you will be briefed before each event.
Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
Support bar when needed.
Bar Staff:
Our existing team will manage the bar as they will know the areas and the rooms. But those who show willingness will get the chance to work on the bar on the shows we have at the Apex.
If you do have bar work experience please let us know as we do have more experienced positions available.
The successful candidate will be/have:
- Positive approach to work and staff.
- Flexibility.
- Good communication skills.
- To always be approachable, friendly and attentive.
- Have the ability to multi-task.
Dress Code: Black trousers and black shirts with sensible footwear.
