Employer Description

Heraeus Noblelight Ltd. (originally named Noblelight) was started in 1978 with just three employees. An opportunity was seized to focus and develop lamps in the ever-expanding laser market at the time.

Our focus on innovation, investment, and serving customers laid the foundation for growth and is at the heart of everything that we do.

As the laser market was rapidly expanding from research to industrial applications, so did our products. We developed the first ‘long life’ continuous laser lamp (CW), named the Supa Lamp, and significantly increased the operating life of flash lamp technologies to meet a wide range of industrial customer applications requiring robust lamp-pumped lasers used for cutting, marking and engraving.

In 1987, the company became part of Heraeus providing stronger financial backing and access to advanced lamp manufacturing technology including quartz glass expertise. Our rapid expansion and significant export growth garnered two prestigious Queen’s Awards for Export, in 1990 and 1995, and a further third for Enterprise in 2015. Understanding customer needs in new applications led to the development of flash lamps for non-laser applications such as solar simulation and cosmetic IPL.

In our most recent decade, we have significantly invested and engineered our own automated flash lamp manufacturing process. Heraeus Noblelight is a global leader in the design and manufacture Xenon, Krypton Arc and Flash Lamps and in recent years developed our breakthrough technology - humm3®.

It is an exciting time to join us here at Heraeus, as we are currently undergoing rapid expansion plans following the shift from component supplier to solutions provider.

We have approximately 110 staff based over two sites on the Science Park in Cambridge.
