A non-exhaustive list that might help those affected by school closures due to coronavirus, compiled by home educators.*

  • Khan Academy
    • Especially good for maths and computing for all ages but other subjects at Secondary level. Note this uses the U.S. grade system but it's mostly common material.
  • BBC Learning
    • This site is old and no longer updated and yet there's so much still available, from language learning to BBC Bitesize for revision. No TV licence required except for content on BBC iPlayer.
  • Futurelearn
    • Free to access 100s of courses, only pay to upgrade if you need a certificate in your name (own account from age 14+ but younger learners can use a parent account).
  • Seneca
    • For those revising at GCSE or A level. Tons of free revision content. Paid access to higher level material.
  • Openlearn
    • Free taster courses aimed at those considering Open University but everyone can access it. Adult level, but some e.g. nature and environment courses could well be of interest to young people.

    • A template to help with planning careers objectives and weekly tasks.
  • Achieve Personal Development and Employability resources. (Prince's Trust)
    • Available for 11-19 year olds. 
  • Student Apprenticeship Guide (Amazing Apprenticeships)
    • Interactive and includes 10 hours of self-directed learning activities. Perfect for Year 12 and 13 considering apprenticeships.

Music Learning Resources

  • Support for students wanting to keep learning and making music from home. (Norfolk Music Hub)
  • Nurseries and Primary school singing resources. (Out Of the Ark Music)
    • Help keep children practising and learning to sing.

  • STEM subject resources (STEM Learning)
    • Activities to do at home that are available for all ages. 
  • Digital Skills (BT)
    • Computing curriculum and highlight the skills children need to become digital citizens. Ideal for 4- 11 year olds.
  • Engineering Activity Zone (HM Government)
    • Has lots of activities to get children thinking and building like engineers.
  • Free Coding courses (Tynker)
    • A platform for children to learn code at home.
  • GCSE revision for maths (StudyMaths)
    • Range of resource to support GCSE maths
