In a highly competitive world, Direct Table Foods has successfully grown to become one of the largest bacon and gammon processors in the UK with a rich heritage and strong vision.

Our strength is in our people – from first QC receipt through to our curing 'craftsmen' with their wealth of experience of speciality and hand curing processes, the efficiency, quality & focus of our production team; to the tenacity of our logistics crew - all supported by our technical and commercial teams with their wealth of market and consumer knowledge.

Manufacturing

Our state of the art 135,000 sq.ft. purpose built factory has been designed to produce rashers, joints and steaks; using the latest pork curing, control, slicing and packaging technologies - producing in excess of 1000 tonnes per week. Because our factory
is purpose built, we have been able to incorporate the latest technology in energy and water efficiencies, using highly energy efficient refrigeration technology to recycle heat from our compressors. A highly invested bacon and gammon processing plant in the heart of rural Suffolk.

Training

We are committed to ensuring that all personnel performing work that affects product safety, legality and quality are trained prior to commencing work and are assessed as competent to carry out their duties.

Commencing with a fully documented, induction training package consisting of Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, CCP’s Allergens and Company policies and procedures a hands on approach is then taken in conjunction with picture Work Instructions and Safe Working Procedures.

To assist Line Leaders in their progression from factory operative to a position of responsibility we have a site specific leadership programme.

Made up of eight modules the training provides a solid foundation for the development of the leadership skills required for the efficient running of a production line and non-discriminatory man management.   

The middle Management team also complete a Management training programme consisting of eight modules. Strongly supported by the company’s 7 leadership values the bespoke course instils a consistent approach to management and has an overt influence on the culture of our company.
