Goldstar Transport was formed in 1998 by a management team that had a proven track record in large volume, multi-customer container transport. From that basis we have built a business able to adapt quickly and with a great deal of imagination to the ever changing demands of our customer base and the difficulties of an industry that is becoming the most legislated in Europe.

We have succeeded in making Goldstar easy for our customers to use by placing staff in-house at customer's offices or giving each customer a central point of contact for all it's work whether, import or export and regardless of the port entry to the UK.

With the opening of our A14 Logistics Centre at Woolpit we are able to offer off-dock loaded storage, Woolpit is also the base for our Training centre, where in addition to ensuring that our driving team are one of the most highly trained on the road, we also offer both Driver CPC and ADR training.

Our market leading IT systems enable electronic data transfer, online real-time tracking of jobs and instant online POD facility, automated delivery notification.

Goldstar has an annual turnover in excess of £80 million and regularly handles over 1200 movements per day for a varied customer base from major shipping lines to smaller niche market operators.

What we do

• Container Haulage: As a major player in the UK container market, we have the knowledge and the capability to deliver containers on time, every time. Our customers range from some of the biggest shipping lines in the world down to small freight forwarders and own account operators.
• Off Dock Storage: Based at Woolpit next to Junction 47 of the A14, perfectly situated for traffic to and from the Haven ports. We have invested heavily in state-of-the-art reach stackers. We can lift and store 20, 40 or 45ft loaded containers.
• Specialist Transport: At Goldstar Transport having the right equipment to do the job correctly is important to us. We have the equipment and the expertise to handle a variety of non-standard container job.
• Hazardous Cargo: At Goldstar we have over 350 trained Drivers in the haulage of hazardous cargo, we have the capability to carry all hazardous classes except Class7 radioactives. With our in house Training facility now approved we aim to have all of our fleet ADR trained within the next twelve months.

Careers and Training

Goldstar Transport operates a training centre at the Woolpit site. The centre is registered with the Department for Transport and the Scottish Qualifications Authority to deliver ADR training in all classes except radio-actives. The centre is also part of the National Logistics Training Consortium for the delivery of Driver ADR/CPC training and is also JAUPT approved.

The ‘Train to Employment Partnership’ scheme has been set up to provide a source of drivers for the Company and is subject to an interview and driving assessment before applicants are accepted on to the scheme.
