Our lawyers may choose to join us through our comprehensive graduate programme or from another firm and some even have a background in industry. Those joining our graduate programme as trainee solicitors will complete four six-month seats, each one in a different department, meaning they will gain valuable experience in a variety of legal practice areas before choosing which one they would like to specialise in. Legal support (Paralegals and Legal Secretaries)
We recruit our paralegals and secretaries from a variety of sources. Some of our paralegals are students who wish to obtain work experience prior to starting at university. Some have finished university and are looking to for their first legal position before starting a training contract. We also recruit secretaries from outside the legal market. Secretaries will have strong secretarial and IT skills and ideally have worked in an office environment. Our secretaries provide the teams with a high level of secretarial and administrative support.
Our finance team have a range of finance skills. Some join as apprentices and learn on the job. Others have spent several years in an accounts team either within our outside the legal profession. The work type ranges from data input to high level financial analysis.
IT recruitment is more specialised and we use IT recruitment agencies usually as we are often seeking staff with particular IT skills. The team deal with helpdesk queries and also support with the implementation of new software and the roll out within the organisation.
Our HR team deal with all areas of HR including recruitment, work experience, employee benefits and training. The team supports the line managers across the offices to provide HR advice at a local level.
Business development and marketing
Our business development and marketing specialists support the firm’s growth objectives, communications, brand and business development strategy. In addition to day-to-day work such as creating marketing collateral, managing the firm’s digital activities, organising events and supporting lawyers on their everyday business development activities, the team helps to support strategic planning at a firm-wide level.
Administration and office support
Each office has an office support team who manage the incoming and outgoing post and deal with any office queries such as furniture, catering and maintenance.
