About Purina

PURINA® Petcare produces and markets pet food, treats and litter and is part of the Nestlé group.  As a leading pet care company, we understand that we are in a unique position and have a responsibility to take the lead in championing the benefits that pets bring and give pets something in return.  Our Purina operations in East Anglia are based at Wisbech and Sudbury, and Nestlé operates across much of the UK and the world.

Here at PURINA®, many of us are pet owners too so we know first-hand what a huge role pets can play in people’s lives. We’re committed to creating nutritious foods that will keep cats and dogs of all ages happy, healthy and content.  Pets are loving companions and part of our families, so it’s really important that they not only enjoy the food we give them, but that it does them good. Our foods aren’t just tasty; they’re packed with a combination of animal based raw materials, fish, vitamins and minerals that deliver a complete and well-balanced meal.

We know that a one-size-fits-all approach to food is not right for every pet. No dog or cat is ever the same, and just as they all have their own distinct personalities, they also have their own dietary needs too. That’s why we’ve created a wide range of products tailored for all different needs of cats and dogs; from kittens to puppies, to those that live indoors, those that are always outdoors, those that are pregnant, and those with allergies and special dietary needs.

With over 85 years’ experience behind us, we are experts in pets’ nutritional needs, committed to creating nutritious foods which are good for health, wellbeing and longevity, as well as on their taste buds.

Work with us: Nestlé Academy

Our business thrives on the energy and ideas which new young talent brings to us and so the Nestlé Academy looks to inspire, educate and engage those thinking about or just starting out on their careers. The Nestlé Academy offers exceptional learning and development opportunities through a number of different routes, to help you build on your strengths, develop your skills and gain real experience.

We’re Nestlé, one of the world’s biggest food and drink manufacturers. What has made us such a huge success and has kept us at the top of our industry? Innovation. And it doesn’t spring from thin air. It draws on history and the successes of others, by us understanding how great achievements came to pass. And takes the best of those achievements as inspiration for new ideas.

Such is life at the Nestlé Academy, founded in 2011 to build on 150 years of Nestlé success by developing the next generation of great innovators within the company. Stretching across our UK and Ireland operations, Nestlé Academy offers you the chance to develop your skills and gain experience in a vibrant global business.

As a business built on 150+ years of innovation, it’s crucial that we encourage applications from the most diverse range of people. You see, every Nestlé person is different from the next. And that’s what makes each of us so valuable to the business. Our ideas and approaches to work are influenced by our huge variety of backgrounds, enabling us to look at every single challenge from multiple perspectives.

We’ve prioritised gender balance since 2008 and have, therefore, increased the number of women at all levels within the company.

As one of the world’s biggest food and beverage manufacturers, we’re also in an excellent position to do more than most to promote a culture that includes people with disabilities. As a result, we’ve been delivering training and awareness raising, return-to-work practice for people with disabilities and ensuring the accessibility of sites with appropriate workplace arrangements.

Despite progress in the UK, Stonewall research shows that many LGBT+ people still face daily discrimination and the legislative and social landscape is constantly changing for people who identify as LGBT+. That’s why we’ve partnered with Stonewall, to demonstrate our commitment to improving inclusion for LGBT+ people in our workplace.

These are just some examples of the work we’re doing for diversity and inclusion.  Find out more at the Nestlé Academy.
