St Elizabeth Hospice improves life for people living with a progressive and life-limiting illness. Our work is centred around an individual's needs, which means specialist support, wherever it is required. We care for people at home, in the community or at the hospice.
St Elizabeth Hospice is an independent charity providing free services. Every year, our services cost £12.9 million to run, 70% coming from the local community. We rely on fundraising, donations and volunteers to keep going. Your support helps us grow local hospice care in the neighbourhood.
We are lucky to have more than 1,700 volunteers at St Elizabeth Hospice. They range in age from 14 upwards and contribute in a variety of ways across all our departments, events and in the local community. Over half of our volunteers support our 31 shops and 2 retail centres. All our volunteers play a vital part in the work of the hospice.

It adds balance and variety to a CV. In this age of networking, it can help you create useful contacts, great friends and improve your quality of life. It helps build your community and it is fun!
St Elizabeth Hospice employs around 360 permanent staff. Many are based at the Hospice sites in Ipswich, Great Yarmouth and Waveney, and in our shops, while others work in the community. The variety of skills needed is wide-ranging.
Our employment team is made up of expert managers, nurses, doctors, healthcare assistants, administrative staff, fundraisers, retail employees, support professionals and therapists as well as catering and maintenance workers.
Whatever your discipline or experience you will find the work rewarding. We offer the chance to make a real difference to people's lives and to contribute to the care of the community every day. That's much more than just a job.
