Head Chef, Dave Wall was named as Britain’s “Best Pub Restaurant Chef’ 2019/20 by his peers, the Craft Guild of Chefs. He is a finalist for ‘Best Chef ‘ in the Great British Pub Awards 2021 and his food is also a finalist in the ‘Best Food’ category .
Nationally, we are number 10 in the Estrella Damm UK Top 50 Gastropubs list and we won the ‘Highest Climber’ award ‘ in the Estrella Damm UK Top 50 Gastropub Awards 2021 .We have also been named as ‘Dining Pub of the Year’ by The Good Pub Guide 2021 . We are also the only team nationally to have won ‘Best Front of House Team ‘ twice ( 2018 and 2020) in the Estrella Damm Uk Top 50 Gastropub Awards .
We are listed by Michelin, Harden, the AA Pub Guide and the The Good Pub Guide and have been recommended by many other publications including The Sunday Times and Financial Times as well as many other foodie publications . Head Chef Dave Wall is regular contributor to BBC Radio Suffolk, Suffolk Magazine and the East Anglian Daily Times.
