Sport is a truly global industry worth billions of pounds. With increased TV revenues, marketing opportunities and ever-growing fan bases, never has there been more job opportunities available.
UCFB a world-first in higher education, trains and educates individuals for these roles. Taught in and around our world-class campuses at Wembley Stadium, London, and the Etihad Stadium and Campus, Manchester, students have the opportunity to become graduates and move on to first class employment within an industry they have a passion for.
The campuses in and around these two famous stadia provide a truly inspirational setting to live and learn in.
We’re proud to say 93 percent of UCFB graduates are in full time employment, and two thirds of those work in the football and sport industries with bodies such as The Football Association, Manchester United, Stoke City, Opta and EDP Soccer in New Jersey.
From day one, UCFB’s unique approach to higher education equips students for the rigorous but also the exciting and life changing experiences a career in this fast paced world can offer. We firmly believe there are three ingredients necessary for such a career: a degree, a network of contacts and a CV full of fantastic work placements. That’s why UCFB offers the whole package.
As well as learning from our band of experienced, industry based academics, students have the opportunity to apply for truly amazing work experience placements in the UK and abroad. Previous students have worked at football clubs in Brazil, the UEFA Champions League final and England international games at Wembley. And thanks to our Complementary Curriculum and Executive Guest Speaker Series, students get the weekly opportunity to hear from industry professionals, ask them questions and gain key contacts for their future careers. Speakers in recent months have included BBC presenter Gabby Logan, World Cup winner George Cohen, Liverpool legend turned Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher and former FA communications director Adrian Bevington.
As well as partnerships with the likes of The FA and League Managers Association, UCFB recently linked up with the Real Madrid Graduate School – Universidad Europea, the education arm of the 11 times European champions. The ground breaking partnership will see UCFB postgraduate students spend part of their year in the Spanish capital to further enhance their educational experience in a foreign market.
The expansion of football and sport means new jobs are being created on a daily basis. From marketing executives at top football clubs to coaches at county associations, and from psychologists at sporting institutions to event organisers at capacity stadiums, the opportunities are endless.
From the moment students step into one of our incredible campuses, we say: “Welcome to the football and sport industry.”
The Students’ Union’s role is to support and represent UCFB students and make their experience as exciting and rewarding as possible.
The SU is also responsible for student involvement; ranging from coordinating ambassadors and aiding communication with UCFB management, to planning events and sustaining sports teams, clubs and societies. Each member of the SU has been democratically elected for their posts and as a result take great pride in their roles at UCFB.
The SU is responsible for organising the incredible annual Freshers’ Week at the start of each academic year. The week long party is a great opportunity for new students to meet and start lasting friendships, and has included live music from household names, trips to a football matches and fun games around the centres of London and Manchester – depending on your campus – to get to the know the area.
If it’s competitive action you’re after, the UCFB Athletic Union enables students to take part in a number of different sports during their time here. Competitive and recreational activities are available, as well as the chance to organise events and watch as a spectator. UCFB enter teams and individuals into the competitive British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues and tournaments for a range of sports. Teams across our two campuses include male and female football, cricket, darts and futsal.
