Job Description

A Fisheries Officer is responsible for the conservation and protection of fisheries which could be fresh water or sea water.  They will enforce legislation on fish stocking and will regulate, develop and protect the fisheries to help sustain the marine environment.

Entry Requirements

A degree is normally required for this job role. However if you don't have a degree or HND and you have any relevant experience in land management, environmental sciences, aquaculture and fisheries management/science it could be possible.

National Government Policy states that all students should have achieved at least a Grade 4 or C Grade in English & Maths at GCSE.  Achieving this minimum grade in these subjects will increase the opportunities open to you, support your future career development and prospects.

Students who do not meet this standard will be supported to continue to study English and Maths through full-time education or an Apprenticeship.

£21,000 to £24,000
