Subsea Engineers are responsible for the design and installation of structures and equipment below the surface of the sea. They support the completion of the design, procurement, fabrication, shipment and installation of wellhead and subsea equipment on schedule and within the approved budget, while meeting all of the regulatory and company-specific technical and safety-related requirements.

College

You could do an engineering course at college which will help you gain more knowledge.

University

Minimum HND in science (Physics) / computing / mechanical / electrical / electronics with relevant work experience or; Degree in a related engineering discipline or equivalent.

You will usually need 2 or 3 A levels, or equivalent for a degree.

Required Skills

  • Strong maths and mechanical skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good leadership and interpersonal abilities
  • Familiar with all equipment used in drilling and the effects pressure water, corrosion and other factors has on the equipment

Salary Range

£27,000 to £75,000
