Thatcher's use traditional crafts and skills to maintain and replace thatched roofs on houses and other buildings.
The most common way to get into thatching is to train with an experienced thatcher.
There are no set entry requirements for this role but some experience in related jobs such as reed cutting may be useful. Enthusiasm and your practical skills will be as important as any qualifications though employers might ask for some standard GCSEs or equivalent.
