Job Description

Manages the branch of a bank, will be responsible for motivating the team and hitting performance targets, they will oversee loan agreements to ensure they comply with responsible lending policies. Will deal with staff queries and issues and help with training new and existing employees. They will ensure the banks customers are satisfied and dealt with quickly and efficiently.

Entry Requirements

You can get this job through:

Apprenticeship

You could do a banking relationship manager degree apprenticeship, or a financial services professional degree apprenticeship.

You'll usually need 4 or 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C) and A levels, or equivalent, for a degree apprenticeship.

You could take a degree before applying for a management trainee scheme. Degree subjects include:

  • management
  • accounting
  • economics
  • finance
  • maths

You could do a retail banking internship for a minimum of 8 weeks during your degree. This will give you a head start when applying for trainee manager jobs after you finish.

You'll usually need 2 to 3 A levels, or equivalent, for a degree.

You could apply to join a bank in a customer service job and work your way up.

You'll usually need a least 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), including English and maths, or equivalent qualifications.
