The Project Manager will have the overall responsibility for the project from start to finish, they will be able to perform effectively within tight deadlines while operating within a strict budget. They will develop a programme of work and the strategy to make the project happen, they will need to plan ahead to make sure provision is made for delivery and storage of materials and equipment and will also monitor health and safety to make sure regulations are adhered to.
A degree in building studies, building engineering, construction engineering management or building technology that is accredited by both the Engineering Council UK and the relevant chartered professional institution, for example, the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). You may be able to get started through a higher or degree level apprenticeship.
