About us

The Port of Felixstowe is Britain's biggest and busiest container port, and one of the largest in Europe.

The port handles more than 4 million TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) and welcomes over 3,000 ships each year, including the largest container vessels afloat today. Crucially, the port provides some of the deepest water close to the open sea of any European port. Around 30 shipping lines operate from Felixstowe, offering approximately 90 services to and from 400 ports around the world.

Together with its unrivalled rail and road links connecting the port to distribution hubs in the Midlands and elsewhere in the UK, Felixstowe plays a pivotal role in keeping the UK's trade moving, and delivers real benefits to customers, the community and the industry.

Best at What Matters Most:

The Port of Felixstowe has led the UK industry for over 30 years. It is successful not merely because it is larger than any British port, but because it is the best at providing customers with the services they need, delivering valuable advantages over alternative container ports.

The success of the Port of Felixstowe stems from our continued commitment to investment in new technology, processes and critically, people.
