The Port of Felixstowe is the largest container port in the UK, it handles 40% of national container traffic and is currently undergoing significant investment and expansion and it's right here on your doorstep.

As well as Felixstowe, the Port of Ipswich is the UK's largest exporter of grain and both Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft offer a wide range of servicing facilities for North sea oil and gas and the offshore wind industry.

There are wide range of different job roles available within the ports from dockworkers and loaders to engineers and contract managers.  The sector is also very closely related to the logistics sector which is responsible for distributing the imported goods across the UK.

The Maritime sector also offers a wide range of opportunities and a well-paid fulfilling career for both men and women who enjoy a challenge and want more from a career than the usual nine to five routine.

A career at sea brings with it a wealth of opportunity, providing training and lifetime experiences which in the longer term can be continued either at sea or onshore.

There are many career opportunities within the industry from ship management and fleet operations to ship broking and finance, maritime law and arbitration and many more.

Whether you are interested in a career at one of the ports or at sea, there are a whole range of opportunities waiting for you to explore.  Take a look at the various links below to find out more.
