SafeSTS is a ship-to-ship (STS) service provider established by a team with over 30 years' expertise and experience.

We work for, and alongside, industry leaders as well as Governments to conduct ship-to-ship (STS) transfers of oil, LPG and essential cargoes, and to improve standards and procedures, particularly in emergency situations. We commit to doing the job to the very highest standard every time. Successfully audited by leading oil majors and trading houses, we have a well-deserved reputation for integrity, reliability and expertise.

Our operations

Operating in a global network of numerous lightering locations, we carry out the ship-to-ship transfer of oil and gas. We use only the highest quality equipment and a global pool of highly experienced, Marpol compliant, Mooring Masters. All operations are carried out in strict accordance with ICS/OCIMF and SIGTTO guidelines and comply fully with Marpol Chapter 8 requirements.

One of our core strengths is understanding vessel dynamics, operability, and logistics, underpinned by a respect for the country and culture in which we work.

Newly pioneered operational locations

SafeSTS has pioneered operational bases in areas in which STS lightering has not previously been conducted to meet market needs and increase logistic networks. Through collaboration with nationals, utilising local infrastructure and expertise whilst demonstrating cultural awareness and respecting all parties within these chains, these bases are proving successful. Examples of which are; Peru, Namibia, Uruguay, Japan & Mozambique.

Our People

In addition to our office teams, our pool of STS Superintendents have all been handpicked for their experience and known operating standards. They are subject to a strict pass out procedure and are audited on a regular basis. We have established our own training program and procedures for new recruits. Ensuring training is carried out globally from the classroom to the actual operation.
