A Business Analyst carries out a complete audit of a company to establish how it can be improved to make it more efficient, finds solutions to issues using intensive research and analysis. This may mean designing new systems or revamping existing ones. Training staff on how to use the new systems implemented.

Entry Requirements

You can get into this job through:

Apprenticeship

You could start by completing a business analyst higher apprenticeship, or a degree apprenticeship in project management, software engineering or cyber security.

You'll usually need 4 or 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C) and A levels, or equivalent, for a higher or degree apprenticeship.

You can do a degree qualification in:

  • business information systems
  • business management
  • computing and systems development
  • computer science

You'll usually need 2 to 3 A levels, or equivalent, for a degree.
