Accountants will devise financial systems, check accountancy procedure and ensure legal compliance. They may work in-house for a company or organisation or for a firm of accountants.
Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business is useful. Training usually lasts between 3 - 5 years and most employer train students to do the Association of Accounting Technicians accounting qualification and then you are able to progress and complete more training. You can also now access accounting roles through apprenticeships at levels 2, 3 and 4.

National Government Policy states that all students should have achieved at least a Grade 4 or C Grade in English & Maths at GCSE. Achieving this minimum grade in these subjects will increase the opportunities open to you, support your future career development and prospects.
Students who do not meet this standard will be supported to continue to study English and Maths through full-time education or an Apprenticeship.
