About Social Care

Social care is all about caring for others, this could be in a care home, out in the community or in someone’s house. You could be working with children, young people, people with disabilities or the elderly.

As a social care worker you will be more actively involved in providing personal and hands on care, this could be in roles such as a care assistant, an independent living adviser, a support worker or a fully qualified social worker.

You don’t necessarily need any qualifications to get started in social care, the most important thing is your attitude and how you treat people who are relying on you for care and support.

If you are looking for a career that gives you an enormous sense of achievement, you enjoy helping others and have a good understanding of other people’s feelings, then social care may be the perfect career choice for you.
