About Education and Teaching

How would you like a career where you can inspire the next generation and make a difference to the development of a young person's life?

Where you could use your knowledge and skills to ensure that all students have an equal chance and the opportunity to learn, flourish and succeed.

Teaching can be one of the most challenging and rewarding careers that you could choose, it is a profession with good prospects and job security.

Once qualified there are lots of opportunities to climb the career ladder as long as you are ambitious, motivated and passionate about the subject you are teaching.

Around 35,000 trainee teachers need to be recruited every year in the UK and with over 750 schools/colleges and two universities in Suffolk and Norfolk there is a huge requirement in our region.

How to get into Teaching

Your options will depend on your circumstances, your qualifications and the subject and age group you would like to teach.

For further information on where to start and whether you are eligible take a look at Department for Education website which shows the different routes that you could take.
