Customer services provides advice to customers who are purchasing the companies services or products.
Being involved in customer services means dealing with customer both over the phone and face to face. You will have to be a resilient individual as you will have to deal with unhappy customers and customer complaints.
Many businesses have their own in-house customer services, but some companies choose to outsource their customer services; or the business is a customer services business.
Roles within the customer service vary from call centres, online support platforms, face to face service and many more. The majority of customer service roles can be entered at an entry level position or an apprenticeship. For higher level roles experience would be required.
Roles within customer services means that you will gain key transferable skills and this will enable you to move sectors and industries if you wish to do so.
