Sales
This is the non-retail side of sales, concerned with selling products and services such as industrial equipment, cars, houses, financial products, pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals and much more. This could be in a business to business environment such as selling manufactured products to retailers or other businesses, or it could involve selling services such as insurance or financial services to members of the public.

There is plenty of variety in these types of sales roles, depending on the sector and organisation you are working for you could be doing anything from cold calling either in person or on the phone, following up referred leads to selling to established clients or developing whole sales strategies to find new clients.

Whichever aspect you are interested in, as with all sales careers, it is very competitive but if successful can be very rewarding with great prospects and you don't necessarily need lots of qualifications to get started!

It's all about tempting customers or clients to purchase your products over and above your competitors.

Marketing executives will develop whole marketing campaigns which could include advertising, social media, organising events and exhibitions they will also conduct market research and ensure the product or service they are promoting is competitively priced. This could be working for a marketing company or working within the marketing department of another organisation.
