About Film, Video and Photography

The film industry can be a very exciting business to work in, whether you become an actor, are in film production, screenwriting, costume design or you design the set. There are a huge variety of job roles available within this industry!

If you have an eye for a good picture, attention to detail, good hand-eye co-ordination, you are good with people and you are creative then you could think about a career in photography. There are many different types of photographer from wedding to landscape, wildlife, action/sports, forensic, media, underwater and many more besides. To get into photography you could either take a recognised college course or you could get in through an apprenticeship.

There are no set routes into the industry so it's best to take a look at all that is on offer and find the best pathway for you be it apprenticeship, training, courses or employment.

Make sure you get involved in school and local productions or try volunteering with local organisations which will give you valuable experience and help when looking for a job in the industry.

East Anglia boasts an impressive array of arts centres providing support and development opportunities for budding photographers and film makers not to mention some inspiring college courses to help you on your way to your creative career.

The county is also home to some amazing creative companies, such as Eye Film which has produced more than 100 hours of TV content, been BAFTA nominated, won three creative industry awards and a Royal Television Society award as well as working with legends such as Sir David Attenborough.
